Definition

An Ontology is an explicit semantic structure of the concepts, classifications, relationships, and constraints in a subject domain, used to interpret knowledge consistently.

SimpleModeling

SimpleModeling uses an Ontology as the conceptual structure of a Knowledge Model. The Glossary manages concept names, meanings, boundaries, and identifiers, while the Ontology defines classifications and semantic relationships among concepts. It is distinguished from instance data such as concrete documents, terms, and Model Elements.
