Definition
In UML, a Transition is a directed Relationship from a source Vertex to a target Vertex in a StateMachine. Triggers, Guards, Effects, and related elements specify when the Transition occurs and what it performs.
SimpleModeling
SimpleModeling treats a Transition not as a mere assignment of a state value but as a meaningful State change involving Preconditions, Responsibilities, Invariants, Postconditions, and Events.
