Definition

An Instance is a concrete occurrence classified by a Classifier. In UML, an InstanceSpecification is a Model Element representing an Instance in a modeled system, distinguishing the Instance itself from its representation in a Model.

SimpleModeling

SimpleModeling distinguishes a design-time Class or Classifier from a runtime or illustrative Instance. An Object Instance follows the structure specified by its Type while holding individual values and State.
